Saturday Night Main Event Card and Predictions for January 25th

It is that time again for WWE’s Saturday Night Main Event Live from San Antonio, TX Saturday January 25th at 8 Eastern/7 central on NBC and Peacock.   The card is packed with championship matches which leads to the potential of at least 1 title change. Will Sheamus FINALLY get that IC title to become a Grand Slam Champion or will Jey Uso “Yeet” on out of San Antonio with a new piece of hardware.

Just in time Echo Oatmeal and I have our insights on the who, what, winners and why.

So, lets Jump into it!

The Conversation:

*WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Gunther vs. Jey Uso

Echo Oatmeal: I've been really back and forth on who wins this. However, I think it's too early for Gunther to lose his title, as he is one of the most known title holders in WWE at the moment. While I do believe Jey would be a great champion, I think it'd be better for his storylines overall, if he were to lose this match.

EO Winner: Gunther

Discombobulated Mom: I am not going to lie. I too, have also been back and forth on this. On 1 hand, Gunther retaining sets up a potential Gunther vs. Cena match down the road.  But on the other, a win from Main event Jey sets up a more drama worthy of an Emmy. You have the brotherly rivalry between Jimmy and Jey, Sami and his quest to be a world champ and potential issues between him and Jey. You also have how KO being in Sami’s ear could affect the “Honorary Uce”. Then, there is Roman and his quest to get back on top of the game. Seeing his cousins as equals is still relatively new to him. How would he see Jey as a world champion?  I feel like without a compelling storyline, Gunter’s reign is getting stale. I thought they were hinting at rivalry with he and Kaiser, but they seemingly have put the brakes on it. I think Gunter will retain due to outside interference of some kind, but they may have to run it back for the Royal Rumble.

DM: Winner Gunther

Winner & Still: Gunther

* WWE Women’s World Championship Match: Rhea Ripley vs. Nia Jax

EO: This match is just a rerun of 40% of Nia's matches. I wish they would give her a different feud for once, but whatever. I think this is going to be the most obvious match yet, with my GOAT Rhea retaining. I think Candace LeRae is going to get involved, which will either mess up Nia somehow, cause a DQ, or get Tiffany to interfere

EO Winner: Rhea Ripley

DM:  I think, like you, this match is obvious, I do think this will be the easiest match to predict but I also think there may be some surprises. I think Candace and Tiffany are a factor here but also possibly Liv and Dominik as well. (perhaps some flirtation between Tiffy and Dom?) We have been blessed to see Rhea and Nia fight live in a few instances and they seem to spar pretty well together so I look for an all-around solid match but Mami will come out on top.

DM Winner: Rhea Ripley

Winner & Still: Rhea Ripley

*Braun Strowman vs. Jacob Fatu

EO: I'm going to be honest, despite how much I love Braun Strowman, I completely forgot about this match. That being said, I am honestly  torn on who will win this match. While Jacob Fatu *does* have The Facebook Marketplace version of The Bloodline on his side, that feels too obvious. I'd like to delude myself into thinking that WWE's creative team is, well, creative. With Fatu being The New Bloodline's biggest threat, it feels like even if Solo and TNB comes out, it's pointless. I'd love to see The Wyatt Sicks come out to help Strowman, as he was one of the originals in The Wyatt Family, but I honestly doubt that that'll happen, as Strowman has said he wants to be an independent wrestler now. I think Strowman *will* get help, just not from The Wyatt Sicks. I feel like Fatu is the obvious choice, so for the sake of being unique, and based on my own opinion, I think Strowman will deliver Fatu's first televised loss in WWE.

EO Winner: Braun Strowman

DM: I think This match is there potentially for 2 reasons. One, I can see a rivalry with the Wyatt Sicks against the NB because they turned on their family. I don’t see it as taking from Strowman’s desire to be independent if a one-off defense of him is the catalyst for such. The other is to be the obvious choice and to create chaos between him and Solo. WWE knows that eventually Jacob is going to outshine Solo with his athleticism and experience so since they will be unable to prevent that from happening, the next best thing is to put it into a storyline. I think also this will be the match that leads to the Samoan Werewolf’s big push.

DM Winner: Jacob Fatu

Winner by DQ: Braun Strowman

* WWE International Championship Match: Bron Breakker vs. Sheamus

EO: This match is the one I'm looking forward to the most, as I have always been a big Sheamus fan, and used to be an even bigger fan of The Brawling Brutes, or as I like to call them, The Shamrock Shakes. Speaking of The Brawling Brutes, I think that's how Sheamus either wins or loses this match, with Pete Dunne being the biggest deciding factor in this. I think that either one of two things happens in this match. Either Sheamus wins the match after the third try, or this is potentially one of his last matches. I think that given how many times this match has happened, Sheamus is bound to win. Especially since this is the only championship he hasn't won yet.

EO Winner: Sheamus

DM: If WWE Creative does not pull the trigger on this one, I will be legit mad.  They have teased us so many times now with Sheamus finally being a Grand Slam champ. I really want it to happen this time. But the problem with this thought process, is the WWE has built Bron to be a force to be reckoned with and his last reign as IC champ was too short (Even though I love the fact Jey won it). I think Pete Dunne comes into play, but possibly also Ludwig Kaiser who wants badly to make a name for himself. I think Bron will look dominate the entire match with some strong moments from Sheamus but in the end I feel like outside interference leaves Sheamus coming up short and contemplating his next moves. Could the Brawling brutes find their way back to each other as heels?

DM Winner: Bron Breakker

Winner & Still: Bron Breakker

·        * Contract signing with Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens and Shawn Michaels moderating

EO: Honestly, the only thing I have to say about this is that KO is going to crash out and jump Cody, leading to some sort of on-the-spot match as a preview with Michaels as the guest referee. I may be a bit delusional. But that is the only way I can figure this plays out as I am not so sure why Michaels would be involved at all. I know you love HBK so interested in your thoughts on this.

DM: I think you are on to something with this but the last time I remember HBK being jumped during a contract signing, was in NXT he was not the referee, but he did appoint one in the form of Johnny Gargano. CM Punk would a good choice as there is no love lost between, he and Cody or KO.  Another really good potential turn of events would be Sami Zayne as a guest referee between KO and Cody.

*So now that we have the Match predictions let’s list potential surprises as to what you think will happen.

EO: Wyatt Sicks Show up to take on the new bloodline

Possible Hikuleo (Talla Tonga) debut on the side of the New Bloodline.

DM: My Surprise predictions involve John Cena showing up at some point

This one is way out in left field but perhaps Goldberg showing up and costing Gunther.

I also think it is possible LA knight is somehow involved possibly in the Strowman match
